50-LED Shoe Covers

These high-top athletic shoes have been decorated with 50 RGB LED pixels on each foot, which can be animated in a variety of colorful patterns, accessed with a pushbutton mode switch.  The LED controller, switches, and battery are all held in the tongue of the shoe. High tops offer a good space to build pockets for those parts.

We have also done a similar version of these shoes, with 80 pixels per foot.

When we add lights to shoes, it is generally done as a modification to the outside part of the shoe, with fabric trims or a fitted cover that can be mounted on the outside, to conceal the wires. For lights that are embedded within soles, we recommend that you work directly with a shoe manufacturer.
