Balto Jackets

Enlighted was commissioned to build these illuminated jackets for the software company Balto, for two of their employees to wear at a technical conference. The back of the jacket has a large version of their logo (a husky dog's head shown in profile), and the left chest area has a smaller version of the logo, along with the Balto text.

The lighted areas are created with sheer windows sewn into the fabric, with a layer of RGB LED pixels aligned behind them. A layer of diffusing material helps to provide a more uniform area of light, disguising the LED locations.

The lights are animated in a custom pattern that fades between aqua, blue, and purple in a flowing effect, as shown in the video below.
