Blue Green Yuletide Dress

This lighted gown was created for the annual Yuletide Celebration produced by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.  We installed lights in the original version of the dress in 2011, and enhanced the design with additional lights in 2014.

Several hundred blue, green, and cool white LEDs are installed throughout the princess-style dress, in a randomly scattered pattern on the bodice and skirt.  The lights in the skirt are diffused by several layers of tulle, which also add variations in the blue-green colors.

The lights are controlled by a mannual on/off switch that can be accessed by the performer when the dress is being worn.  When activated, the lights flashing in a slow twinkling and fading pattern.
