Coldplay Flags

We were commissioned to add LED lighting to some flags for the 2025 portion of Coldplay's Music of the Spheres world tour. Chris Martin displays a flag and waves it around during their performance of "People of the Pride." Towards the end of the song, the flag is lit up before it is tossed into the air and floats to the ground.

We lit up a progressive pride flag, a traditional pride flag, and a LOVE flag, so that different versions may be appear in different shows.

This project posed a variety of challenges, since the prop needed to have the following features:

• behave like a normal fabric flag that can be folded, crumpled up, and waved around without interference from the electronics
• have a high degree of durability to survive twisting, flinging, etc
• be soft and lightweight enough to withstand a fall to the ground without damaging itself or whatever it lands on
• turn off automatically after a specified delay time

The lighted suits we made in 2024 are also being used on this tour.
