In 2011, Enlighted was commissioned to add lighting to several of these racing suits, for use by performers at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

The client wanted to illuminate the white regions of these costumes, with a light that was as uniform as possible, but also bright enough to be seen in a live show. The suits also had to be durable enough to withstand acrobatic stunts.

We recommended a dense grid of white LEDs covered with diffusing material.  This added some thickness to the illuminated areas, but it was disguised well by the seams in the suit. We also included intentional gaps in the lighting at the knees and the elbows, so that there wouldn't be added bulk interfering with body motion at those joints.
