N.A.S.A.
Enlighted was commissioned to create lighted accents for a spaceship being used on N.A.S.A.'s 2010 world tour.
No, it's not that NASA, though we were quite amused to see how much (and how little) Janet's career has changed since her days as an aerospace engineer. Now she can say she's worked for both NASAs!
The N.A.S.A. music project, an abbreviation of North America South America, is a hip hop indie music duo, featuring LA-based producer Squeak E. Clean and DJ Zegon from Brazil, and a variety of other collaborators. They're known for using funky space-themed props and decorations in their live shows, including a large inflatable spaceship that surrounds their DJ equipment on this tour.
For this project, we installed lighting on fabric panels that could be attached to the surface of this ship, and then removed again for transport (so the lights wouldn't be crushed). The N.A.S.A. logo was illuminated with a diffused panel of RGB LEDs, and the rocket boosters at the bottom were lit up with chasing rings of white and gold EL wire.
