Nerve Bra

This Enlighted bra, originally made in 2006, was inspired by our electric nervous system costume.  It has 62 single-color LEDs (31 per side), in a full rainbow of colors, with eight different flashing patterns that can be selected by the wearer. The light is diffused by an external layer of hand-sculpted silicone, creating organic nerve-like shapes from an underlying geometric pattern.

The base bra in this example is a beige seamless type (nude for some skin tones), encouraging the illusion that the skin is exposed and the light is coming from within the body.

We also created a slightly simplified version of the bra, with a black foundation and 26 single-color LEDs (13 per side). The lights are arranged in a similar fashion, with rainbow colors of red, gold, green, and blue surrounding a purple lights at the center. The lights are covered with sculpted silicone, and they pulse in similar patterns.
