Red Bow Tie with 50 LEDs

This lighted bow tie was created as a custom order in 2011, along with a matching pocket square and scarf. The client intended to wear the tie with either the pocket square or the scarf, but not both at the same time.

The tie is illuminated with about 50 LEDs (the thru-hole 3mm type), which is close to the upper practical limit. 

The pocket square is also lit up with about 50 LEDs, and is operated by a battery held in the same pocket. The scarf is decorated with 100 red LEDs, with a higher concentration of lights near the lower edges.

All of the lights are illuminated with a steady glowing effect (no twinkling).
