Ties with 15 RGB LEDs

These ties, created in 2014, are illuminated by 15 RGB LEDs in a staggered grid arrangement.  The LED lenses are exposed on the outside of the fabric and the wiring and other electronics are concealed on the inside.  The controller is programmed with a variety of animated patterns that the user can select with a built-in mode switch. The battery is also mounted on the back of the tie.

Each light can be lit up independently in a wide range of colors, so the modes include a few types of rainbow effects, as well as several single color options with a steady glow or downward chase pattern.

We made several of these for members of a band, who liked the idea of picking a different color pattern for different shows.
