Flag Shirt

Enlighted was commissioned to install lighting in this American flag shirt.  We mounted one LED behind each of the stars, and lit them up with either a steady white glow or a few different speeds of white twinkling patterns.  The white fabric is translucent enough to let the light shine through, while keeping the electronics concealed until the shirt is lit up.

Even though we are only using the white color of the LEDs in these patterns, it was more efficient to use a string of RGB LED pixels.  The quality of the twinkling pattern is also better when each light can be controlled independently, as is possible with pixels using serial communication.

We have also done a more elaborate version of this shirt, which includes rainbow patterns.
